Volunteer to Help Flip the 10th 

Commit to Flip Blue is partnering with Working America to flip California’s 10^th congressional district (California's 10th congressional district is a congressional district in the U.S. state of California. Currently, the 10th district encompasses an area of the northern San Joaquin Valley held by Jeff Denham (R–Turlock)) and we need your help to do it! We're aiming to motivate voters, turnout progressives and have pivotal conversations about issues that impact working people throughout the district. 

We need your help to make a difference in California's 10th and 21st Congressional Districts.

Working America is mobilizing volunteers in the Central Valley to build the resistance and a majority for progressive change.

Before you attend a training event with us, be sure to fill out this volunteer form and email  or fax it to (510) 835-4913.

1) Attend a Volunteer Training

All volunteers must submit a Working America in the Central Valley volunteer sign-up form and be trained before canvassing with us. 

If you have not previously trained with us, select your date below, then on the RSVP form, be sure to select the "come early" option in the drop down menu to be trained in Modesto before your shift. Trainings will take place promptly at 10:00 a.m. before Saturday shifts and at 3:00 p.m. before weekday shifts.  When you RSVP for an event, be sure to choose the proper start time based on whether you have previously been trained or not.

We are happy to train groups with 12 – 15 volunteers in locations other than Modesto – contact us by email to make arrangements. Those trained must commit to volunteer with us for at least one canvass.

2) Sign Up for Volunteer Shifts

Now you're ready to hit the streets with us to talk – and listen – and make a difference.

Volunteer shifts in CD 10 stage from our Modesto office at 1003 10th Street, Suite A. Volunteer shifts in CD 21 will stage from locations to be posted here, on the Working America website, and will be nearby the area we are canvassing at the time.

Space is limited for volunteer shifts, so please only RSVP to events you will be able to attend.

You will receive an automated confirmation when you sign up. You will also receive an automated reminder before your event date. If you accidentally sign up for the wrong date, just sign up again for the correct one, but be aware that you will still get an automated reminder for both the correct and incorrect date.  Staff will also send you orientation materials.

We are on the corner of 10th and J Street above Ralston’s Goat Restaurant and Bistro -- across the street from Picasso’s Deli – see entrance between Ralston's Goat outside seating area.

Coming from North, follow 99 South.  Take exit 226B for 5th Street, turn left on K Street then right on 10th Street.  Office will be on your right.

Coming from South follow 99 North.  Take exit 226B for 6th Street, turn right on I Street then left on 10th Street.  Office will be on your left.

PARKING:  There is 2 hour street parking.  Also all day parking 4 blocks south on G Street and one block west on 9th Street in front of the bus and train station.
